Micah Lexier is a Toronto-based artist whose activities include making, collecting, and organizing. He has a deep interest in measurement, increment, found imagery and display structures. Lexier’s projects range in scale from limited edition multiples to massive public sculptures.

Micah Lexier is a Toronto-based artist whose activities include making, collecting, and organizing. He has a deep interest in measurement, increment, found imagery and display structures. Lexier’s projects range in scale from limited edition multiples to massive public sculptures. He has presented over 100 solo exhibitions, participated in more than 200 group exhibitions, and has produced a dozen permanent public commissions. In 2013 The Power Plant hosted a fifteen-year survey exhibition of Lexier’s work entitled One, and Two, and More Than Two and in 2015 Lexier was honoured with a Governor General's Awards in Visual and Media Arts. Lexier’s work is in numerous public and corporate collections including The British Museum (London, England), the Contemporary Art Gallery (Sydney, Australia), The Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto) and The National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa). Lexier is represented by Birch Contemporary.

Jen Aitken (b.1985) makes sculptures and drawings that combine perceptual ambiguity with structural clarity. Based in Toronto, she received her MFA in 2014 from the University of Guelph, and her BFA in 2010 from Emily Carr University, Vancouver. Aitken received a Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts Award in 2021, and the Hnatyshyn Foundation and TD Bank Emerging Visual Artist Award in 2017.

Ron Terada (b. 1969, Vancouver; lives/works: Vancouver) has developed a wide-ranging conceptual art practice over more than two decades, which includes painting, photography, video, and music, as well as publications, posters, billboards, and signage. Terada is a graduate of the Emily Carr College of Art and Design.

Terada is a graduate of the Emily Carr College of Art and Design. In 2006, he was awarded the Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award, Visual Art, from the Canada Council for the Arts, and in 2004, he won the VIVA Award, Jack and Doris Shadbolt Foundation for the Visual Arts, Vancouver. Terada's significant solo exhibitions include the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto (2018); Catriona Jeffries, Vancouver (2017); Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2011). Recent group exhibitions include the Vancouver Art Gallery (2021, 2017); Kunstverein in Hamburg (2019); Kunsthalle Wien (2016); Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit (2013); 4th Guangzhou Triennial (2012); and CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco (2012).

Ella Gonzales is a Filipina-Canadian artist working between painting and Computer-Aided Design programs, as led by her interest in space making. Her painting on piña silk, a fabric made from the leaves of a pineapple plant that is native to the Philippines, is inspired by the concept of displacement that immigrant communities experience.

She has recently shown work with Unit 17, Vancouver; Christie Contemporary, Toronto; Southern Alberta Art Gallery, Lethbridge; AXENÉO7, Gatineau; Hunt Gallery, Toronto; Galerie Nicolas Robert, Toronto; the plumb, Toronto and Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre, Kingston. Gonzales holds a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Guelph.

Sami Tsang is a Chinese-Canadian artist working primarily as a ceramicist. Her sculptures stem from her own narratives as well as the stories she gathers around domestic encounters. Using clay, resin, rice paper and ball point pen, Tsang channels these stories into her art-making to reveal shared, raw, emotional experiences.

Using clay, resin, rice paper and ball point pen, Tsang channels these stories into her art-making to reveal shared, raw, emotional experiences. Tsang earned a Master of Fine Art degree in Ceramic Art at Alfred University (NY) in 2021 and is currently an Artist-in-Residence at Harbourfront Centre.

Erdem Taşdelen is a Turkish-Canadian artist who currently lives and works in Tkaronto/Toronto. Through the use of diverse materials and media, he constructs semi-fictional narratives that incorporate unique historical figures, events and texts to implicate contemporary sociopolitical realities.

He has been an artist-in-residence at the Delfina Foundation, London; Rupert, Vilnius; and KulturKontakt Austria, Vienna. In 2019, he was long-listed for the Sobey Art Award.

Shaheer Zazai is an Afghan-Canadian artist with a current studio practice both in painting and digital media. Zazai received a BFA from OCAD University in 2011 and was artist in residence at OCAD University as part of the Digital Painting Atelier in 2015. Zazai’s practice focuses on exploring and attempting to investigate the development of cultural identity in the present geopolitical climate and diaspora. The digital works
revolve around Microsoft Word and imagery reminiscent of traditional Afghan carpets. Through mimicking carpet-making methods, Zazai creates his own designs in Microsoft Word, where every knot of a carpet is translated into a typed character. While the digital is a process based exploration, the paintings have been an internal investigation into vulnerability and fear.

Over the years Zazai’s material vocabulary has expanded into textile work, site-specific public art installations and video works with his lens becoming self-reflective. Zazai is a recipient of Ontario Arts Council grants and he was a finalist for EQ Bank’s Emerging Digital Artist Award in 2018. Since graduating, Zazai has had several solo and group exhibitions such as those at the Capacity 3 Gallery, CAFKA Biennial 2019, Art Gallery of Mississauga, Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant., Double Happiness Projects and Patel Brown Gallery. His digital works have been covered by CBC Arts in 2018, Ajam Media Collective in 2019 and Globe and Mail in 2020.

Some of his recent notable exhibitions include a solo exhibition at the Agha Khan Museum in Toronto, participation at a group exhibition at Doris McCarthy Gallery, and a solo exhibition at Owens Art Gallery as part of visiting artist program at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick.

Matt Nish-Lapidus is a Canadian artist, writer, musician, and designer whose research interest lies in exploring how new, meaningful relationships with computer hardware and software can be re-envisioned. Bearing in mind recent conversations around data mining and privacy invasion, Nish-Lapidus’s projects unite poetry, code, and language to incite and catalyze a reconsideration of computation as material and computer culture.
