Power Kids: Rivers of Tkaronto
March 19, 2023, 3PM
Inspired by Simon Fuh’s translucent vinyl art installation which retraces the original paths of two rivers in Ontario that colonists rerouted (the Humber and the Don), this workshop will encourage families and kids to explore bodies of water in Toronto. Collectively, they will make a map showing where water sits or flows in the city by tracing old and new maps, drawing, and colouring.

Pick up the new Winter 2023 Family Guide
Get ready to have some family fun with the Winter 2023 Family Guide! Inspired by The Power Plant's three current exhibitions, this guide is filled with cool creative riddles for you and your kids to solve together.
One of the riddles is based on Amartey Golding's amazing 166-kilogram Chainmail Garment 3, which you can check out in his exhibition In the comfort of embers. After learning more about the art piece, kids can brainstorm plants and animals with similar protective coverings, like armour. Apart from fun riddles, the guide will help kids explore their artistic skills by suggesting they create their own artwork with scissors, glue sticks, and pencils.
Download the Family Guide here, or get it at the front desk of The Power Plant during regular opening hours!
