We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Development Coordinator to support our fundraising efforts and enhance donor and members engagement at The Power Plant.

The Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the fundraising team by managing donor and membership databases, coordinating fundraising activities, and ensuring effective communication with gallery donors, members and stakeholders. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Reporting to: Head of Development
  • Type of Employment: Full-time, 35 hours per week
  • Compensation: Annual salary of $54,000 to $60,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package
  • Number of Vacancies: 1
  • Location: Toronto, a hybrid work environment (onsite 4+ days per week)

Duties


  • Donor Database Management: Maintain and update donor information in the CRM system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Membership Database Management: Manage all aspects of the membership database, ensuring accurate records, timely renewals, and effective communication.
  • Plan and execute membership drives, renewal campaigns, and special initiatives to attract new members and upgrade existing ones.
  • Fundraising Support: Assist in the development and execution of fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, major gifts, and grant applications.
  • Work closely with the Head of Development to develop, establish and carry out fundraising program strategies to enhance and grow revenue through existing and emerging opportunities.
  • Research: Conduct research on prospective donors, foundations, and grant opportunities to support fundraising strategies.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on fundraising activities, donor engagement, and revenue tracking.
  • Donor Communication: Ensure donor communications are aligned with fundraising strategy and that support is provided for engagement communications as needed.
  • Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the Development team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and managing correspondence.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned.

Requirements


  • Education: Degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in maintaining accurate records and producing error-free documents.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required for events.
  • Passion: A genuine interest in contemporary art and the mission of The Power Plant.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. All international applicants must have a valid employment visa authorizing their ability to work in Canada on a full-time, ongoing basis. We are unable to sponsor employment visas.
