The Power Plant

Taking cues from the series Lost in Time by artist Patrick Bernatchez, this workshop will focus around the element of time and how it can be represented using symbolism. The workshop will begin with a brief discussion about the representation of time and space after which participants will work with a partner to brainstorm and create a visual vocabulary representing these concepts. The new vocabularies will be incorporated into mixed-media “timescapes” using paint, canvas and other studio materials. Participants will learn various art-making approaches, including acrylic paint image transfer and collage to create symbolic representations of time. At the end of the workshop, kids can take their artworks home.

On the Day: Power Kids begins promptly at 3PM, any spaces that have been reserved but not claimed by 3:10PM will be released to drop-in participants. Caregivers are expected to join their children in all activities.
