Art Travel Program

Washington D.C. | 13 - 15 April 2018

Led by Gaëtane Verna, Director, Members of The Power Plant’s Circle of Supporters took part in an unforgettable art weekend in Washington D.C. Our patrons experienced curator-led visits to must-see major museums along the National Mall, including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the National Museum of the American Indian, and the groundbreaking National Museum for African American History and Culture, which the group toured with an architect from David Adjaye Associates.

In addition to the established cultural institutions and architectural splendor of the capital, patrons also took in Washington’s vibrant local art scene, visiting the homes of four extraordinary collectors and the studio of renowned artist Sam Gilliam. Our trip also included a behind-the-scenes visit to Glenstone, one of America's largest private museums, located on a sprawling 200-acre estate in Potomac, Maryland.
