In collaboration with the Toronto Writers Collective, The Power Plant presents a series of free creative writing workshops. Facilitated by writers well-versed in the Amherst method, the workshops will provide a safe and inclusive setting for both new and experienced writers to explore their written voice. Participants will respond to visual cues and prompts inspired by art works currently on view at The Power Plant, and will be invited to share their creations in order to receive positive feedback from their peers. No prior writing experience is required.

This virtual writing session will center around Rashid Johnson's Anxious Audience as a source of inspiration, and will be facilitated by Susan Ksiezopolski and Laura Demers.

Susan Ksiezopolski is the award-winning author of My Words, Writing for Change, The Writer’s Workbook and Fuel Your Creativity. She has been featured in various anthologies, magazines and on-line platforms. Susan is a graduate of the Humber School for Writers, and the founder of WriteWell delivering workshops across the GTA. She is a Toronto Writers Collective Lead Facilitator, volunteering since 2015. In 2019, Susan was awarded a Fusion grant from the Mississauga Arts Council for the Feel It! Initiative, which explores the intersection of art, poetry and music.
